A while ago, our friends at blogger.com started using OpenID for commenters without Google Accounts. This works fine if you have a wordpress, livejournal or typekey blog, but if like me, you have a self hosted blog, you will have to create an Open ID identity, and link it to your blog.
I have been putting this off for a while now, which meant that either I left comments on blogs without a link back to mine, I left comments using my wordpress blog (which I don’t actually use), or I didn’t leave any comments at all.
Anyway, today, I decided to sort it out once and for all, and it took less than 15 minutes, and now http://boso.me.uk is now a valid OpenID.
First of all you need to sign up for an Open ID at https://www.myopenid.com/
Then you need to claim your blog, there’s a useful tutorial here.
And that’s it !!
Just thought I would share, for anyone else out there who needs to do this.
